There is some amount of debate about which breed of canine has the strongest bite? Although I would love to claim it is the Cane Corso, the title actually belongs to the Kangal breed. They are a giant dog used mainly for livestock protection in Turkey and were bred to fight wolves, bears and jackals. Kangal’s are not really practical to own for most Americans because of their size and fierce hunting instincts. Coming in second place is the Cane Corso, in third place is the Akita and in fourth place is the Rottweiler. We have owned both Corsos and Rotteillers. Both of these breeds are great dogs for personal protection. One difference we have noticed is Cane Corso’s are more tuned in with peoples emotions and are able to tell if they are carrying a weapon or not.
